Pratima Royal Recipes | 1_pic_1 I was born in a small township of Sigatoka, Fiji Islands. As a little girl I watched my mother cook for a large family. My dad was a cook for a number of years in the early days of his marriage. Both of them were great cooks and my heartfelt thanks goes to my parents who brought in me a strong passion for cooking.

I started cooking at the age of thirteen. Baking was my favourite. Bananas were found plenty in the tropical land so banana cake was on top of my list followed by Indian donuts (Gulgula) banana being one of the key ingredients in this.

In 1973 when I set my foot on New Zealand soil, it was then I started turning out delectable and distinctive Indian cuisines. My love for food brought me in contact with women of many nationalities. Sharing and exchanging recipes from one another became a way of life for me in New Zealand.

It wasn't until 1996 when I founded the Fiji Women's Society Charitable organisation that I decided to produce my very first cook book “Delights of Indian Cooking ", 1st edition as a fund raiser for the above organisation. The success sales led me to produce the 2nd edition with many more recipes. Demand and popularity of both these editions inspired me to go a step further in creating New Zealand's first Interactive DVD on Indian cooking , " PRATIMAS ROYAL RECIPES", Indian delights with an accompanying cook book in color. A fine collection of nineteen mouth watering, tried and tested , exotic Indian dishes originating from the northern, southern, eastern and western regions of India are included in this DVD. This DVD will lure you aspiring cooks into your kitchens where a journey towards a memorable meal will begin. You can now enjoy the exotic flavors of Indian cuisine right in your very home.

This website is created complimenting New Zealand's first locally produced interactive cookery DVD on Indian cuisine.

I have made this specially for lovers of Indian foods and included a fine collection of mouth watering and exotic Indian dishes. These tried and tested recipes have been closely guarded and handed down to me through generations. The dishes included, originate from the northern, southern, eastern and western regions of India.

This website will lure you aspiring cooks into your kitchens where a journey towards a memorable meal will begin. You can now enjoy the exotic flavours of Indian cuisine right in your very home.
